Misery Index / Your son died for nothing
Here is the Tax Misery Index, a measure of the total burden of taxation on the individual.
Jeremy from the Project for a New Anarchist Century pretty much hit the nail on the head:

No, your son died for NOTHING. He was in Iraq taking my freedoms and Iraqis' freedoms, and he paid for this with his life. Deal with it.

Word. I'm sick of this martyr shit. It's not like our shores were invaded. People need to stop deluding themselves. If you have a goal or a journey or a reason to pick up a gun and kill people, well. What can I say to talk you out of it. But don't you dare tell me you're some kind of Political Jesus, doing it for me. Because I don't want anyone firing a bullet in my name.
Even if we assume, for the sake of argument, that the operation in Iraq is securing or protecting state-side freedom, the degree to which military action in that theater actually affords us any protection or security is surely insignificantly small. When weighed then, against the financial and human costs, it ought to be clear to anyone with a functioning mind that it's a monumental waste of both. The marginal benefit secured thereby could hardly be justified by the toll in lives, dollars, or any combination thereof.
But, since assuming that action in the middle east actually secures us anything is such a quantum fucking leap of logic, that it's a shame these arguments need to be put forth.
